4K or Ultra High Definition(UHD) is a visual display resolution standard of 3840 × 2160 pixels. The resolution means a number of pixels horizontal and vertical at which the video is recorded.
This display resolution standard is followed by the TV broadcasters, cinema projections, video capturing devices e.g. camcorders, DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, etc.
The 4K resolution contains 4000 pixels in horizontal which is the width of the display. This is NOT an exact number always used, it can vary as per different standards for different applications.
